One of the things I wanted growing up was to see more faces like mine in the mainstream media. And now, in 2021, I am so moved and ecstatic to see so many Asians breaking through in the mainstream media, reality realm, and yes, now in music.

That is why I am so happy to introduce another beautiful Asian face to my blog series, Asian Spotlight. Guys, please meet Sarah Faith Griffiths, professionally and more well-known as Griff. Born on January 21st, 2001 to a Jamaican father and Chinese mother, she is still young, but incredibly talented and wise. I also think she’s gorgeous and that her hair is going to be her signature trademark.

I first heard her amazingly powerful vocals via Christine’s Cinema Corner‘s playlist. She (Christine) usually listens to HONNE (who is also a great artist) and he did a collaboration with Griff via the song “1000000 X Better.” After that, hearing her collaboration with Zedd in “Inside Out” had me hooked.

I started researching this girl’s work and I became proud of her Asian heritage (hey, a face like mine is in the music industry!); her success as a young Asian woman (again, she’s ONLY 19 as of right now!); and how she uses her platform still being this young (uplifting others).

If you want to know (and actually witness) just how talented she really is, just listen to (and watch) her remix of Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande‘s song “Rain on Me.”

She makes the whole remix in under ONE hour.

And if you don’t think she’s that extremely gifted, may I remind you, again she is not even 20 years old yet, but she has signed to Warner Records, collaborated with ZEDD, and sang a song (“Love is a Compass“) for a DISNEY Christmas short. She’s even got TAYLOR SWIFT‘s approval for one of her collaboration remixes!!!

I don’t know about you, but I am completely floored by her. And I am so excited to see what else is in store for her and what she will continue to bring to us in the future.

Her latest release is “Black Hole” and again, it sounds extraordinary!
